Laser Components
GmbH was founded in 1982. The company’s philosophy is the production and sale
of high-tech components for the optoelectronic- and laser market. The steadily
growing company now has 45 employees. Laser Components GmbH has been certified
according to ISO 9001 since1994. After having started to produce hard dielectric
coatings for laser optics and laser rods in-house as early as in 1986. In 1993
the company has extended its in-house production to fabricating IR laser diodes
in the 3-25 µm wavelength range based on lead salts, after having successfully
performed technology transfer from the Fraunhofer Institute for Physical Measurement
Technology of Freiburg, Germany.
The IR laser department
of Laser Components GmbH has gathered considerable expertise and know-how in
laser diodes for high-end spectroscopy, and has now initiated further growth
of in-house production of suitable single mode NIR laser diodes in the wavelength
range from 760 nm–2500 nm. Since the beginning of this year we can supply the
community with DFB lasers for selected wavelengths in the 1500-1650 nm range
and VCSEL's in the 760-940 nm range. In the latter case, we are presently buying
the laser chips form a Swiss supplier and fabricate complete modules. For the
wavelength ranges yet to be covered we have developed cooperations with different
German research institutes, which will supply us with DFB chips for spectroscopically
relevant wavelengths.
