The MBE group,
headed by Dr. Eberl, of the MPI-FKF has currently 14 coworkers. Its expertise
is especially in the field of epitaxial growth.
Equipment and materials
- four MBE systems
for GaAs based III/V compounds, with two systems being equipped with phosphorus
sources to allow the preparation of P containing compounds
- one MBE system
for Si/SiGe/SiGeC heterostructures
- XRD, PL, Hall-Effect
measurements, SEM and AFM characterization

single electron transistor
- atomic layer
precise etching in MBE

SiGeC alloy layers on Si, intensive IR-light out of Ge quantum dots in Si,
