Optical nanostructures is the research topic of the newly installed group at the University of Wuppertal. Its activities are concentrated on the fabrication and characteri-zation of optical properties of photonic materials. Fabrication includes high resolution electron beam lithography and nanoimprinting, dry etching, deposition (metal, dielectric or/and transparent conducting oxides). Optical characterization tools include broad range (300 to 1500 nm) calibrated spectro-radiometry to measure absolute values of radiant power (from LED's for instance). Past research topics from the group bring expertise in deep etched III-V, IV-IV and II-VI nanostructures, self-assembled quantum dots and sub-monolayers.
